DNF

Well, that didn't go quite the way we anticipated.  Friday night were heats and a Race of Champions.  We made it through the heat and used it to play with the set-up of the car.  During the Race of Champions the set-up didn't work and we ended up blowing out a right-rear tire.  Saturday morning, a lot more broken bits were discovered.  After spending the day repairing the car and banging the body back into shape, we went with a lot more conservative set-up which worked on the dry-slick track.  Unfortunately, during a bit of a tussle for real estate, we broke a tie rod ending our night early.  Despite our disappointment, there was some great racing action from the pro stocks.  The 55 schooled the field ,but the 3D and 72 had a great battle for second and the majority of the field was competitive.

We're taking a little break through December to give the car a detailed going over and fix, repair, and freshen things up.  See you in the new year!

A little late-night revelry, and we've joined a new team!

That's better
This kind of thing can make for a rough weekend
At least we looked good while we were out there.  This is post blow-out.   Looks pretty good, doesn't it? Amazing what some rivets, hammers, and elbow grease will do.

Defending Turkey Classic Winner article at cocopahspeedway.com

There's a pretty good article up at the Cocopah Speedway website detailing last year's Turkey Classic and the where we are for this year's.  Check it out!

Back to Cocopah

On November 5th, we found ourselves at Cocopah Speedway again, this time to do some testing for the upcoming Turkey Classic.  Not sure we had the set-up we want since we finished third.  Up next is the Cocopah Speedway Turkey Classic (formally of the defunct Imperial Speedway).  Should be a great event, and we are going in as defending winners!

Cocopah Speedway #4

We returned to Cocopah Speedway on Saturday for a regular night of racing.  Larry Corning (#44) greeted us by telling us he showed up to give us some competition.  Turns out, he's a man of his word.  We came in second to the #44 (with a car that was not 100%).  Up next, we return to the Cocopah Speedway Turkey Classic...

A Little GoPro Action

There are full clips of the Bud Nationals from both a front and rear mounted GoPro Hero HD, but for those that don't want to watch 30 minutes of in-car footage, here's all the fun parts in a nice little five minute package.  Enjoy.

Bakersfield Bud Nationals

On Saturday, we traveled to Bakersfield Speedway for the Bud Nationals.  The race was WCSS rules, and most the big show regulars were there.  We won our heat, but an inverted start in the main killed our chances on the one lane track.  We finished a respectable 6th (out of 21 West Coast Street Stocks in attendance).  Congratulations to Lee Jensen (#72) for the win.

Saturday was race #2 at Cocopah Speedway.  It turned out to be a pretty decent night for our team and friends.  Despite some hiccups early in the night, we finished second to the hooked up Bill Alexander 02 car.

Sean Callens also had a career high second  place finish which is no easy task in the street stocks at Cocopah.

Overall, it was a pretty successful night. Next, we're off to Bakersfield...

Racing at Cocopah Speedway started again on Saturday.  Only three Pro Stocks showed, and the other two had mechanical issues during the main.  The good news is that the new promoter honored the full payout and we guess and win is a win.  We'll take it.

As always, check the links for photos and videos.

In more exciting news, our "teammate" Sean Callens in the 11 Street Stock had an awesome night, holding on and and passing cars for third in a very competitive class.

I made some icons to use on various websites like youtube, facebook, forums, etc.  They are cropped and resized and should work most places.   Feel free to save and use them.

Barona Speedway First Timers

We made our first (competition) trip to Barona Speedway Saturday night.  Good people, good racing, and some scary stuff in the pro stock main.  There are a few drivers/owners out there that are probably looking for new cars. One car took out a chunk of the plywood fence at the exit and another ended up upside down, on fire under the flagstand in unrelated incidents. Luckily, everyone was ok and we made it through in one piece and finished second. As always, links to photos and videos can be found to the left.

We're Number One!

On Saturday, we ran at Perris Auto Speedway (we are super stocks there).  This race was for Cal. SS All-Star Shootout points which is an independent points system for cars following WCSS rules.  Check out more about it here.  There were only a handful of  cars in our class, but the cars that were there were competative and put on a good show.  The bad news is, without a full field, Perris doesn't pay.  The good news is, we won!

Here is our in car footage:

And a few photos:

Here we go

Hey guys,
I decided to put a quick blog together so all of the media after races would be in one place.  There are links here for the photos (photobucket albums) and the videos (youtube). If there is ever any interesting news, this space can be used for that as well.  This should simplify the e-mails, PMs, various message boards, and facebook tag we all play.
